This charming maison de maître was added on to an older corps de ferme in 1868 and became the home of the local Abbé, who conducted services and made his wine in the cottage next door.
Inside is largely English country house style with family antiques, pretty lamps and china. There is also a mix of other more eclectic pieces and interesting paintings, reflecting the travels of your hosts. There is WiFi available and there are books everywhere.
The two main bedrooms are light and airy with extremely comfortable beds and all cotton bed linen. One has a king sized bed and a large bathroom ensuite and the other twin beds/king and a private bathroom across the passage. There is a third bedroom on the second floor beneath heavy old beams - perfect for children or teenagers. It has an ensuite shower bathroom.
Much of the parterre garden still stands in front of the house surrounded by a higher box hedge on three sides and with rose and shrub beds in front. Roses and wisteria ramble over the front of the house and an arch in the box hedge to the side takes you to the pool and pergola.
Weather permitting, during the summer breakfast (and dinner if required) are served outside on the back terrace or under the lime tree. Otherwise meals are served round the dining room table.
